DAY 4 - SUNDAY, 7 AUGUST, 2005
PL and I slept in till pretty late, even though we didn't go anywhere the night before. My fault, really. I'm not sure whether it was the heat or the lack of proper meals but I was feeling pretty rotten on Saturday night... Churning tummy, clammy skin and I was all trembly. We'd gone out for some dim sum at a 24-hour hole-in-the-wall near our hotel (Which had excellent char siew paos!) and were suppose to go pub-hopping after, but I was in such bad shape, PL thought it better that we get an early night.
10 hours of sleep seemed to do the trick cos I was up and raring to go long before PL surfaced at noon. We decided to head back to Tsim Sha Tsui, where the breakfast menu from Super Sandwich had caught my eye 2 days before...

Unfortunately, since it was almost half-past 1 when we arrived, breakfast was long over. After we plonked ourselves down by a huge window, I settled for some mushroom pasta and PL plowed through half a Super Club, the remnants of which you see above. (I didn't leave anything on my plate, I was that hungry!) :P
As we ate, we entertained ourselves by trying to take some "artistic shots"... Like these...

I love how you can see the reflection of the street / buildings in our sunglasses' lenses...
Despite being all stuffed and bloated from lunch, neither PL or I could resist stuffing our faces with a dessert she'd introduced me to...

Absolutely yummmmmmmmmmmmmmy milk tarts!
Imagine warm, creamy condensed milk baked into a buttery pastry crust... And you'll have about HALF an idea how good this tasted. PL assured me that it was relatively low in fat and very nutritous, which I totally believed, of course! :P Actually, I swear I'll make a fortune if I ever franchise these into Singapore. (Side note to PL: Whaddya say best friend? Wanna be my business partner? Haha!)

PL felt a little sick, I think, after polishing off her milk tart...

I, on the other hand, was a little sad that mine had disappeared so quickly... No more milk tart... *sniff*

This cheered me up though... Cheapy DVDs! CHEAPY!!! *cackles*
At about 3 in the afternoon, we decided that we'd lingered long enough in Tsim Sha Tsui, so it was time to head elsewhere...

Station #8 - Mong Kok... Where our friend, Ah Pui (Meaning Fattie...) had told us to check out for good shopping. And for a special kind of turtle filter he wanted us to help him buy for his precious fish tank. Kao... TURTLE FILTER?! SIMI?!?! Sheesh...
As we stepped out of the Mong Kok train station...

And onto an impossibly busy street, we were greeted by this "beauuutiful sight"...

Uh huh. Nice... *rolls eyes* PL, here's where we're staying the next time we come to Hong Kong, you hear me?!?!?! Hehehe!

PL, I'll take that as a yes. *chuckles*
It was way too crowded and waaaaaaaaaaaaay too hot to take that many photos in Mongkok. A little while, a little bargaining and a little shopping later, we collapsed on a park bench for a quick cigarette, exhausted from lugging PL's new, snazzy, ebony black mahjong set around.
Since the heat didn't show any signs of letting up, PL and I figured that the only way to spend the rest of our day was to lounge around in our bikinis by the pool. So we toddled back to the station and boarded a train back towards to Tin Hau...

Where we saw a dude I'll call "The Fanny"... *smirk smirk*

Who was sitting on my left, wearing a horrible, putrid brown and green t-shirt... Now, why call him "The Fanny", you might ask... *giggles*

I swear, the only time he moved was to flutter this piss-yellow-colored fan back and forth in a vain attempt to cool himself down. Other than that, The Fanny barely stirred during the entire duration of our trip!

Wooot! Finally back at Tin Hau! Respite from the heat was in sight...

At the pool again. I look like I had alien antennas growing out of my head, thanks to the stupid lamp posts in the background. Sheesh...

Hmmm... We spy with our little eye...

C-ankles! Eeewww! For those of you who've watched "Shallow Hal", you'll know that c-ankles are the bits where your ankles are suppose to be, but you're so fat that your calves don't taper down and your legs look like stumpy tree trunks!
PL and I decided to turn our attention to something a liiiiiittle more visually appealing...

A view of the setting sun in the horizon...

Now isn't that a gorgeous sight? *sighs wistfully*
Then it was back to the room to doll ourselves up for a night on the town. We'd made reservations at some hoity-toity restaurant in Kowloon called AQUA. The hefty price tag (Minimum HK$390, which is about S$100!) a head put us off for a bit, but we figured we deserved to splurge since it was our last night in The Pearl of the Orient. Heh! Any excuse, eh? ;)
I guess it was money well-spent, since AQUA turned out to be bloody gorgeous! By the way, my pics don't do AQUA justice so if you wanna get a better idea how it looks, check out their website's gallery by clicking the link (In grey, you blind bats!)above.
Thanks to my colleague, M, who recommended the place... :)

Maaaaaaaan... I love their chandeliers!

We got ourselves a window seat, all the way up the spiffy 1 Peking Building...

Where we had a breath-taking, bird-eye view of the harbour. This pic says it all... With just 1 spoiler...

Heh heh... The glass windows made photo taking a little difficult.
Then, the food arrived. AQUA serves excellent Japanese and Italian cuisine... Deciding to be a little eclectic in our choices, PL and I decided to have an AQUA TOKYO dish as a starter and an AQUA ROMA dish as a main...

Ultra fresh, thickly-sliced salmon sashimi... Yum!

Followed by a spicy salami pizza with a crispy crust... Yum yum!

Here's my favorite part of dinner... AQUA's famed Lychee Martini! See the bits at the bottom of the glass? That's fresh, blended lychee swimming around with the whole fruit...

Yum yum yummmmmmmmm!

PL appeared to have OD-ed on Lychee Martinis, since she stuck to sipping Gin Tonics the entire night...

The night passed by too quickly for my liking. Before we knew it, it was 12.30am and we had to leave in order to catch the last train back to Hong Kong Island. *sigh* If only cabs weren't so ridiculously expensive... Ah well... 1 more shot for the road!
Which just happen to capture the most important part of the evening...

Dang! I'd already kept my credit card at this point or you'd see how badly it was smoking! Haha!
