About Neigh-moronic-bours

Been meaning to blog about this but I haven't had enough time. I came home 2 nights ago at around 11pm to find a pink slip of paper stuck to my door...

"Dear neighbour, please be considerate to your neigbours. We can smell you smoking from your room every evening. Please go downstairs to smoke. #12-54."
The Stiletto practically had to HAUL me into the flat to stop me from stomping over and hammering on my neighbour's door. I was LIVID. Who the fuck did these assholes think they were?! Telling me I couldn't smoke in my own house?!

I mean... That's tantamount to me saying... "Dear neighbour, I can smell it every time you take a fucking dump. Your shit REALLY stinks. Please be considerate to your neighbours and go downstairs to use the fucking public toilet every time nature calls. #12-58." Bloody ridiculous. Oh. And just for spite, that night, I smoked TWICE as much as I normally do. So there. Bite me, muthafucker. Call the fucking cops. I'll LOVE to be there when they laugh you out the fucking door.

Sheesh. Can't handle me smoking? Move! Or stop being such a fucking skinflint and turn on the damn air conditioning.

I swear... The people living around me are all bloody weird.

About 2 years ago, sometime around the Lunar New Year, my direct neighbour (from #12-56) came knocking and bitching about the kum kwat plant I had at my doorstep. According to him, the damn plant was an ant magnet and the damn ants were infesting his damn flat. I was fucking amazed, since (1) there were no ants to be seen when I checked around the pot and (2) the ants managed to crawl 30 FEET to HIS front door but somehow, managed to miss MINE, which was only 6 INCHES away.

So. In a nutshell. I live in a neighbourhood with fucking morons as neighbours. But very brilliant ants. Haaaaaaaaah!

About Excalibur

Errr... Am I the one on the left or right? *owlish blink*

I am a excalibur!
Find your own pose!

Excalibur Traits & Tendencies:
Excalibur couples may battle just as much as other couples (and participate in more than their fair share of public huffs), but they look so good together, it outweighs any other deficiencies they may share. It isn't that they're classically good-looking, or similarly sized (though certainly both those pairings are permissible). It's more that the aesthetic chord they strike satisfies in profound ways. Like gorgeously plated food or song filled with unusual harmonies, the wan and freckled hand-in-hand with the tragically tan, the pigeon-toed with the duck-walkers, these Excalibur couples achieve such perfection in their pairing that reminds the world that anything is possible.

Comfort Zone:
Excalibur is in the Wind pose family. Other Wind poses you might enjoy include Softserve Swirl and The Ventriloquist.

Health Note:
An unexpected rash or orthopedic adjustment can sometimes lead an Excalibur couple to fall out of balance. Physical adjustments may need to be made, or an entirely new pose could even be in order.

About Blog Quizzes

Tired. Brain dead. Can't blog. Thought I'd spend some time doing meaningless quizzes instead...

Men See You As
Choosy

Men notice you light years before you notice them.
You take a selective approach to dating, and you can afford to be picky.
You aren't looking for a quick flirt - but a memorable encounter.
It may take men a while to ask you out, but it's worth the wait.
How Do Men See You?

Note to The Stiletto: Worth the wait. You see that? :P And just in case you get all complacent...

The Stiletto cooked pasta for dinner. Yum. We then spent the rest of the evening lounging around at home, watching the final season of Buffy.

Just as I was brooding about the amount of work that Missduhr and I have to do in the next couple of weeks (and all the potential late nights in the office), SMG's perky voice pips...

Buffy: Sorry. My office hours are 10 to 4.

About The MTV Movie Awards

I'm bored. Bored bored bored. I've spent the last hour just sitting here, surfing the YouTube website, as I wait for my clients to revert. It was a toss up between this, and arranging my stationary drawer. :P

I figured I'd post up links of all my favorite clips taken from the MTV Movie Awards... You've probably seen some before, but they're always worth watching again.

My absolute favorite? Andy Serkis and Gollum. ;)

About Melbourne (Part 3)

Ok. This post is sooooooo "XX-like", but I had so much fun shopping while I was in Melbourne, I decided to relive those thrills by posting up pictures of some of my spoils. Heh... :P

DAY 6 - TUESDAY, 28 MARCH, 2006

We got up bright and early and made our way via public transport to the suburb of Cheltenham. The morning had a chill to it, and The Stiletto and I found ourselves shivering both at the Flinders Street and Caufield train station platforms. Finally, we got to Cheltenham, where after a short bus ride, we arrived at...

Melbourne's DFO. Direct Factory Outlet. Magic words for any shopoholic...

Seeing that it's pretty obvious that I went into a retail frenzy the minute we walked through the front door, I guess it's needless to say that we didn't take any photos. As a result, all I have are these pictures that I snapped earlier this evening, against the red "backdrop" of my burgandy colored sheets. Heh...

(Aside to Slinky - This one's for you girlie. Heh... I'm guessing your manic shopping post will only go up after The Boy's left. Hope you've kicked the damn flu bug and that you're having a ball... ;P)

I also bought a ton of pretty lingerie. But since The Stiletto prefers I keep those exclusively for his viewing pleasure, I won't post any pictures up.

I must rave about how cheap underwear is in Melbourne though... I paid A$19 for a black satin and white lace Calvin Klein bra! Bonds thongs go for about A$4 a pop! (They sell them for about S$13 at Tangs in Singapore!) Since I came back home with 8 new bras and 26 new thongs, I've officially been barred from underwear shopping for the next 2 years. :P

Heh... I'm having so much fun doing this, I'm posting up pics of the shopping I did during the entire duration of my trip. It's not like we did much else but shop, eat and lounge around the apartment on day 7 and 8 anyway. Haha...

About Bourdain Drool

I'm probably not the 1st person to say this but Anthony Bourdain is hot hot HOT! Gritty humour, down to earth personality, smouldering good looks and an innate ability to cook... What more can a girl ask for?

His wife is 1 lucky bitch.

Nabei. I is a liiiiiiiiiitle bit jealous. :P

About The Delay

The company trip to Phuket, which was originally scheduled to take place from the 6th to the 8th of May, has been postponed. To August. Due to a lack of attendance.

Ah well... On the bright side, that means I have another 4 months to lose the flab before I have to don a bikini in front of the world.

Bleah.

About The Panadol

I'm sick. Again. The cold that's been nagging at me for the entire week finally decided to turn around and grab me by the throat yesterday, when The Stiletto and I drove up to JB. Yes. JB. Again.

Anyway, I went to the Guardian Pharmacy at Holiday Plaza to get some cold / flu tablets to ease the sneezing fits (12 times in a row. How about that?) and runny nose (I was dripping like a fricking leaky faucet!). Guess what? I couldn't buy any. Because the Pharmacist wasn't available till 7pm.

Panadol Cold and Panadol Flu are apparently prescription drugs. The only stuff you can buy off the shelf are normal Panadol, children's panadol, Panadol Actifast and Actal.

How fucking spastic is that?! Can anybody explain to me why this is so? Malaysia sucks sometimes...

About Melbourne (Part 2)

On with my little photo blog of our recent Melbourne trip...

DAY 4 - SUNDAY, 26 MARCH, 2006

We got up pretty early on our 1st Sunday in Melbourne to soak up some sun as we strolled along the St Kilda beach market, as well as have a huge brekkie...

Image hosting by Photobucket
After a tram ride riddled with loud Italian boys blasting gangsta rap, flexing their muscles and trying to accentuate their manhood by yelling at each other every 2 minutes, we reached our destination.

Image hosting by Photobucket
We were really happy to get off the tram, I tell you... :P

Image hosting by Photobucket
Strolling along the beach market, I came across a rather strange sight...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Somebody really didn't like this stuffed dog... Poor doggie. :(

Image hosting by Photobucket
We then got to St Kilda's famous Acland Cake Shop, where we ordered yummy bacon and eggs. And toast. And ice coffee. I tend to forget that ice coffee in Melbourne is always served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream... Which doesn't make it the healthiest drink to start off the day with, but it sure as hell makes it the yummiest!

Image hosting by Photobucket
Deciding to walk off some of the calories, The Stiletto and I strolled along the market (Sweating like hell in 30 degree sunshine!), where I ended up buying the prettiest, hand-painted waist pouch...

Image hosting by Photobucket
The Stiletto passed time taking snapshots of our rather gorgeous surroundings.

Image hosting by Photobucket
I remember standing there and marvelling at how blue the skies were, how fresh the air was and how absolutely wonderful I felt. :)

By the way, don't you just love my new skirt from Esprit? Gorgeous colors... Melbourne's been hit by this whole boho craze, which I love... And the best part? I got this at a whopping discount. Only paid A$24 for it I think. Esprit! A$24! Woooooot!

Image hosting by Photobucket
The Stiletto got quite fascinated by this ark looking thingie. I suspect that he really wanted me to photograph the bikini-clad chickies lying in front of the wooden rotting boat thingie. He's denying it though. Smart boy. Hehe...

Image hosting by Photobucket
There was some sandcastle building / sculpture competition going on... I was amazed at how detailed this 1 of Luna Park was. Still can't over my skirt. Pretty skirt, pretty skirt, pretty skirt, pretty skirt, pretty skirt, pretty skirt!!!

Image hosting by Photobucket
I love this shot of the both of us. Believe it or not, it was totally candid. We were walking, and The Stiletto just stuck his arm out and snapped this.

It got even hotter, which made for 2 extremely thirsty people...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Image hosting by Photobucket
So we made our way back towards the bistros and cafes that littered Acland Street for a couple of Diet Cokes and beers... After spending some time catching up with 2 old friends I haven't seen in yonks, we decided to head back to the city for a shower and nap before dinner. (Lygon Sreet! Garlic sirloin steak, yummy aglio olio pasta and Bacio gelate!!! Omg... All the extra pounds I put on from that meal alone was worth it...)

Image hosting by Photobucket
Of course, walking past the saliva-inducing window displays of tarts and cakes and pies and pastries, The Stiletto got tempted. Which meant we ended up balancing a paper bag of strawberry cheesecake and Acland's famous fruit tart on our laps all the way back on the tram...

DAY 5 - MONDAY, 27 MARCH, 2006

I didn't feel like heading out or doing anything, so we stayed in and played slug for most of the day... The Stiletto had brought his laptop up so I whiled the afternoon away playing Zoo Tycoon 2. He finally dragged me away from it long enough to have dinner along Chinatown. (The avocado handrolls my boy packed away for lunch couldn't last forever I guess...)

Image hosting by Photobucket
After hot prawn porridge, roast duck and rice, I brought The Stiletto to another 1 of my old haunts... This little lounge / bar nestled in a dark alley... The Gin Palace. Plush, mis-matched sofas... Chilled white wine... Dark crooks and crannies, perfect to hole up in and hold private conversations...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Not that we talked much.

Image hosting by Photobucket
Our timing and aim, however...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Could've used a little work... Hehe...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Which got me a little annoyed. :P

Image hosting by Photobucket
Nice us.

Image hosting by Photobucket
Nasty us.

Which brings me to the end of my post for today. It's late, I'm tired and The Stiletto's got Buffy on DVD. So I'm gonna go snuggle up with my man and get started on my long weekend. :)

Aside to Slinky - The spoils post will come. I promise. Heh... Can't wait to read yours! ;)

About Melbourne (Part 1)

I've finally decided to sit myself down and blog about my recent Melbourne trip. (Figured I'd better do it now before I totally forget what we did and where we went... Especially with me getting older, my memory isn't what it use to be. Haha...)

DAY 1 - THURSDAY, 23 MARCH, 2006

The Stiletto and I got to the airport at 3pm. 4 hours before our flight was scheduled to depart. Yes. 4 hours. Heh... I was of the theory that the sooner we got to the airport, the sooner our vacation started. And I wanted to be able to take a very leisurely browse through DFS. I ended up shopping even before I left Singapore. Bought 2 very cute tops from Giordano Ladies. Woot!

Oh. And I hereby swear that this is the 1st and LAST time I am flying British Airways. The seats were highly uncomfortable, the food was unpalatable to say the least and the crew didn't bother very much with any passenger that wasn't Caucasian. World's favorite airline my big, fat, hairy toe! Bleah...

Our flight took off 20 minutes late. Surprisingly though, we made good time, touching down in Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport a mere 7 hours later at 5.20am...

DAY 2 - FRIDAY, 24 MARCH, 2006

Since taxis in Melbourne are horrendously expensive, The Stiletto and I had decided against taking a cab from the airport. Instead, we opted for the Skybus Super Shuttle, which proved to be extremely efficient in transferring us and several other passengers to our respective accommodations in the city... All for A$24 per pax return. A taxi would have cost us twice as much at least!

Seeing that we made such good time, The Stiletto and I found ourselves at our service apartment much earlier than expected. (I was a little spaced out by this point, not having slept much on the plane but I remember the sun hadn't yet risen, so it must've been around 6.45am?) Since check-in wasn't until 10am, we dumped our bags with the desk and made our way to Queen Victoria Market for breakfast... Or brekkie, as the Aussies call it. :)

Image hosting by Photobucket
The best way to start a day, in my opinion... 6 piping hot, freshly-made, sugar-coated jelly donuts, a scrambled egg and bacon bagel, and deliciously foamy lattes. I don't know why but for some reason, the coffee in Melbourne tastes a million times better than anything you can find here. Damn but I miss it already... Starbucks, schmarbucks...

After we stuffed our faces, The Stiletto and I wandered around the city for a bit. Unfortunately, by 9am, all the coffee in the world couldn't keep our energy levels up and we were practically staggering with fatigue. Praying that our apartment would be ready early, we trudged back, only to be told that we had to wait another half hour. I remember us giving vaguely dopey smiles, plopping our exhausted butts down on the reception's sofa and promptly falling asleep, not stirring till the nice folks there woke us up and handed us our keys...

A 4-hour nap later, we were raring to go. Well... Sort of lah. Actually, more than anything, I think it was a constant, gnawing hunger that made us drag ourselves out of bed.

Image hosting by Photobucket
I decided to introduce The Stiletto to my favorite sushi stall at Target Centre along Bourke Street... It didn't take him long to become a huge fan of their avocado handroll (He ended up having it 3 more times during our trip!). To me, the teriyaki chicken continues to kick ass! Yummm...

Image hosting by Photobucket
It was a beautiful autumn afternoon and Bourke Street was bustling with shoppers...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Image hosting by Photobucket
For the time being, however, we were quite content lounging around at Gloria Jeans Coffee, nibbling our handrolls, sipping our lattes and posing for silly photos... (Btw, it was in the pic above that I realised my hair's too bloody long. I look like a freaking farmer's wife!)

Friday = Extended shopping hours in the city. However, with our late start, we only managed to cover Target, Myers and last but not least, Melbourne Central, where the biggest highlight seemed to be this very cool LCD screen...

Image hosting by Photobucket
We were looking for the Sportsgirl store and ended up getting kinda lost amidst the hundreds of shops at the new Melbourne Central. After trying in vain to get my bearings, I spotted this huge touchscreen TV... Which very funkily gave us directions, maps and arrows and all, on the shortest way to get to our desired destination. How cool is that? Heh...

The Stiletto decided to cook me dinner so we then raided Safeway for steaks, pork chops, fresh mushrooms and frozen fries... A$50 worth of groceries. For a single meal!

After yet another pig out, we decided to get an early night and start bright and fresh the next day... Bridge Road baby! Woohoo!!!

DAY 3 - SATURDAY, 25 MARCH, 2006

Image hosting by Photobucket
Us, opposite Flinders Street Station, waiting for the number 48 or 75 tram to take us to Bridge Road, home to fashion factory outlets and good food... That's St Pauls Cathedral in the background...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Here's a clearer shot... Click here for a virtual tour of the cathedral...

A short tram ride later, we found ourselves outside a small hotel / pub...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Where we had a truly excellent lunch. Bangers and mash for me... Roast chicken and parmesan ravioli for The Stiletto... Yes, yes, I know the sausages look extremely phallic... But they were extremely yummy! :P

Image hosting by Photobucket
We then attempted to walk off that huge meal by plowing through the myraid of shops along the stretch... Review. Portmans. Dotti. Witchery. Bendon. Nine West. Surprisingly, neither The Stiletto nor I managed to get the retail therapy we wanted... Until we hit the Esprit factory outlet. Well... Let's just say that my credit card's still in therapy... :(

5.30pm and it was time to head back to the city... I hate how shops close so damn early in Melbourne. I mean, you get into this whole shopping groove but before you know it, they're nudging you out of the store. Grrr...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Since it was a little early to head home, we lazed around 1 of my old haunts, L'incontro, nursing another couple of lattes.

Image hosting by Photobucket
I snapped this as we walked back to the apartment... Not sure why it turned out this way... I look kinda freaky / ghostly, huh? Eeep... (And my hair looks awfully flat! Ick!)

Image hosting by Photobucket
Bong 360. Hahaha! (Sorry... Private joke. :P)

Image hosting by Photobucket
We kept getting asked if we were on our honeymoon. Errr... Now I wonder why people were getting that impression? :P Heh heh... Please lah, honeymoon in Melbourne? Do I look like such a cheapskate? Hahaha...

Image hosting by Photobucket
New top I just bought. A little more conservative and sweetie-pie than I what normally wear, but it's so pretty, don't you think? ;)

Image hosting by Photobucket
Later that same night, just before we made our way to Crown for dinner at Greco. I don't think The Stiletto has fully recovered from his experience with their strawberry cheesecake yet... Heh...

That pretty much sums up our 1st 3 days... More to come in subsequent posts... I can't be bothered to resize and upload all the photos at 1 shot... :P
